Small birds are scratching my paintwork. How can I solve this?

Has anyone had a problem of little scratches, created by small birds on their car?

For years my car and my previous car has been scratched. Usually the scratching starts lightly and then just get more and more pronounced. The edge of the bonnet/wing of car on one side was badly scratched a few years ago.

The other day I caught those small birds perched exactly where the scratches are.
One thing is I'm big into waxing the car and it is always fairly shiny (also it is a black car so any scratch looks terrible) and I was wondering is this causing the problem.

Has anyone got the same problem, and how do you solve it?
    Thanks!

I wish birds were perched on my bodywork.

    Buy a cat.

I'm trying hard not to list out more jokes. Some might even be funny.

Cats are even worse, they'll climb all over the car with the claws out - I've seen cars that this has happened too, not nice >.<

don't get the cat, then the cat walks on the car, leaves cat prints everywhere

cats like to be perched high looking around at stuff to gobble up and it will love sitting on your car. or at least our cat loves climbing on our cars.

get yourself a nice small tree and a bird feeder?

then the birds might **** on your car?

long story short, your screwed :D

edit : beaten to it with the cat thing.

When I go over to my friend, he got like million cats. I get a few feet marks, but not nail marks. Funny enough those damn things go under the bonnet to warm up.

Once my friend started an engine and it was not lovely purr of the car, but panic scream of a cat lol.
