Overshoe etiquette question

What's the story with wearing overshoes with shorts and a short sleeved top? Is that frowned upon by the Euro gods?

I've been finding the last few weeks that every bit of me is fine in summer gear except my feet, which come back from spins numb from cold. I've tried wearing thicker socks, but they make my feet feel cramped in the shoes. I'd like to go with the overshoes for another few weeks, until it gets a bit warmer (if it gets warmer) but I'd hate to make a massive fashion faux pas. What do you guys think?

I tend to use them regardless of conditions - when TT'ing they save me time, and at other times they keep my shoes clean;)

Thanks Beasty! If it's good enough for you it's good enough for me.

Now if I can just manage to avoid catching my leg hairs in the zips I'll be laughing...

You've got my number there XZ! I'm a bit of a mess of conflicting influences at the moment. Gonna try to get a bit quicker before I finally make the plunge into shaving, but it's definitely on the cards.

Lets not be too hasty here. The overshoes. Do they have a rather large clearly defined sponsor on the outside? If not then they are not acceptable at any stage of the year...

    Something like this is perfect:

just to throw my 2 cents in

I think the single greatest over shoe ever created belonged to Jan Ullrich. No Idea why I i think its so cool. Just do.

If there's even going to be a hint of rain, the overshoes go on for me. Shoes just don't dry out, ever. Over a longish ride, your soaked clothes will dry out, but your shoes won't.
