Just heard that Zoltan Gera's red card for Fulham today may have cost them a Europa League place and that Blackpool are now ahead of them in the Fair Play League Table. Can anyone confirm this ?

More than likely sees Blackpool in Europe yes.
A very nice consolation for them when/if it's official! :)

They have to play 8 games if they want to get into the group stage. Can see them and Birmingham sacrificing the Europa League to try and get straight back up.

I can see what will happen.

Next season Blackpool do terrific in the Europa League, in the process winning it, and also get relegated from the Championship. The next year the qualify as Champions and do the double, while getting relegated again. This happens again the next year. Blackpool are now in the conference but have won an unprecedented three successive Europa Leagues during this time period.

Holly and his merry band of followers head off to Real Madrid where Florentino Perez now in his 8th term of office decides Holloway, a European football expert, is the man to finally get Real over the 10th European Cup hump.

'Olly achieves this and departs Madrid two years later with 2 European cups and 2 super cups better, however Madrid are by now behind their famous namesakes Real Madrid B in the Spanish league ladder. Nevertheless, job done.

Ian and Charlie Adam are reunited at Chelsea where they win the Charity shield 5-0. However Holloway is promptly sacked on the astro turf between the pitch and the stand by Abromavich for not having enough Panache, the recent €89 million French recruit from the Elite development squad otherwise know as 'City's reserves.'.

Holloway heads for the heady heights of Newcastle next as a replacement for Phillipe Albert, Mike Ashley's latest attempt to bring back the glory days at Newcastle. Holloway continues to work the oracle and brings an unprecedented quadruple to St James Park.

Holloway promptly leaves however after a foiled kidnapping attempt by certain elements of the Newcastle fan base. Rumours that the fans wanted to have Holloway embalmed and laid to eternal rest in Tyneside Classical while in the process becoming the figurehead of their Christianity as the second coming of the messiah are not refuted.

Eventually 'Olly tires of his mercenary ways and goes back to Blackpool. Now playing the in the Lancashire third division. Holloway leads the merry men on a Championship manager esq style rise through the divisions, with Belarussian striker Maxim Tsigallo banging in goal after goal.

This culminates when Holloway leads Blackpool to the League and Champions League double. Holloway cements his reputation as one the greatest managers of all time as he decided he fancies a crack at the World Cup and takes over Ireland on the 28th of May after the manager Roy Keane has a falling out with an inanimate object which leads to him leaving his country. Holloway wins the 2030 World Cup in a 4-3 win over the French thanks to a late, controversial, hand assisted goal, by Alex O'Hanlon.

    I can dream can't I!!:p

This Article kind of sums up rather simply why this would be a bad thing..

Only top tier league clubs can get a fair play place. Relegated clubs cant. That goes for all leagues in Europe.

Looked it up. I'm wrong. Relegated teams do qualify. The other fair play winner were Sweden and Norway. Ireland came 7 out of 53. The nasty Andorrans were the worst.
