    Hi,
A friend of mine dropped her iphone 3gs over the weekend.
Now only some of the letters are working when composing an email etc.
    It seems to be intermittent.
I assume she needs a replacement digitizer?
I have seen some of these on ebay and was wondering if they are ok?
What kind of money are we talking for a repair?
    Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sham.

If you type in "repair" into the search facility there are lots of threads about fixing iPod touch/iPhone screens

The 3GS Digitizer is one of the easiest to replace. I do a lot of them in work - the screens themselves are dirt cheap on ebay if you wanna pick one up. All you need is a small philips screwdriver (size #00) and a suction cup like the ones on the bathroom hooks you stick to the mirror.
The only thing to be careful about when purchasing a new digitzer is that you get the middle frame assembly as well. It's possble to remove the old one, but it's more work and therefore more can go wrong. Considering buying one with the middle frame is only a few euro more expensive it's best to go for it.
