I have just been offered a 2 year teaching Job in Dubai. I have 0ver 10years experience. I am wondering does anyone know what salary I should expect to earn (ball park).

Also my husband will be soming with me & I will have to sponsor him. Will it be difficult for him to find work/ get visa to stay the 2years? Anyone also contacts in the construction/carpentry trade?

Does anyone know the cost of living out there?

    Waht do people think/recommend?

I was just wondering did u get any updates on this thread? I am a teacher too married to a plumber so have thought of this as a potential option for a few years. We have a baby also so need to factor her in. Would love to know the salary range etc.

Never been there but have family and friends who lived there as opposed to just holidays.
Frankly they thought Dubai was a '' shithole '' that did not deserve its glossy image - sky high cost of living that eats into pay that on the surface at least looks quite good , tacky , awful traffic , place full of fast buck warriors , etc.
Accomodation is a rip-off that prevents a lot of people from making any decent savings despite the much-touted tax-free salaries.

Others here will doubtless have more direct and recent experiences.

    Still no further on....
