I'm surprised this hasn't been done, with Eurovision being on last week.
Anyway, what are your memories of Eurovision?

This song won in 1982 - Nicole, A little Peace. We all sang it in the playground afterwards. I made up my own words to it. I remember 2 other girls had the official words and they wouldn't share with the rest of us
Anyway I bought the record and it was the first I ever bought - I was 7. I was so excited bringing it home and playing it all the time!

This was also a highlight for me. Bucks Fizz - Making your mind up. For a 6 year old it was bright costumes and a catchy melody and the bit where they pulled their dresses off was brilliant. Again we 'performed' this in the playground. I think we used tea-towels for the dresses that would be pulled off! :D
Looking back now, the girls can barely reach the high notes! :)

I remember watching Hold me now by Johnny Logan but being too tired to wait for the voting so I missed what would have been the first time Ireland won for me!

After that I watched Eurovision almost every year but there was nothing stand-out for me (that I can remember anyway). All the Irish entries that won were so forgettable. Linda Martin and Niamh Kavanagh had such whiny songs.

But I loved this and can be often heard humming it: Olsen Brothers - FLy on the Wings of Love.

Also it's weird to see that all the old entries had full orchestra support with their own conductors as well.
