Has anyone laced their brooks saddle?

Does it work? i.e does it stops the flaps splaying?
    Is it more comfortable?
    Does the lacing chaff?
    Any reliable methods?
    Is it worth it?

I did it a while ago, by trimming a B17 but leaving a 'flap' that I then connected using a chain link

With that method there was no chafing or anything of the sort, though I will say that it didn't make it much more comfortable, and was replaced soon after by a Swallow (which is lovely)
