They won't tell you. And they might not even answer the phone.

Yeah, sure, don't the results letters that come in the post say "provisional statement of results" or some such?

you've said that the council don't release the final results until the appeals have been dealt with.

Then it goes to the main exams board, they look at the exams and results in a more overall fashion, and then release the results.

After any appeals have been settled, the final results are approved by academic council.
The results are released by the exams board.
The results you get are provisional until academic council approves them, these provisional results are without change unless they are the subject of an appeal

That's fine, I thought I may have missed my opportunity to appeal if needed.

Keep in mind that you have 4 weeks to submit an appeal in writing, so don't leave it too long if you feel your entitled to do so.

If the results go the way I expect them too, I'll probably need to appeal two exams but I don't know if I'll get anywhere and I can't afford to be spending money on appeals, getting nowhere and then having to fork out more money to pay for repeats.

I wouldn't expect them until noon at least.

I've been trying to stay off the booze for a few weeks but I could do with getting hammered today/tonight to make the time fly by.

4th year bio results were just the degree result, we didn't actually get the individual marks, I presume its for Masters/PhD purposes!

Yup, the penultimate year mark, weighted as 30%, is added automatically where it helps the student - so when your last year was worse than your penultimate year. It usually only accounts for a few percent, unless there's a huge difference between the two years, but it could bring you up a degree class!

Oh, and its all course AFAIK:)

Shall we expect a delay due to so many people trying to access it at the same time? :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,945 ✭✭✭mp3guy

Ah no, never seen it delay myself.

If only I could pass out now and wake up when they're out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭Fluffy88

And I didn't come here just coz of results, someone actually linked me here, I spend most of my time reading the tech boards :P

I am bricking it. Have spent a lot of time in college but this is the first time I really feel I may have failed. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,625 ✭✭✭How so Joe

Not bricking it myself. Just impatient. Spent a good few hours this morning refreshing every five minutes, in tandem with my sister. Siiiiiiiiiigh. Less than 12 hours to go!

Not worried myself, but the doubt creeps up on you the longer you have to wait.

Could only sleep four hours last night, awake since 4am. I really hope they're up at midday. Not in the mood for another 24 hours of this.
