"Irish flag banned video"

Seen this on youtube and at first I thought it was real and got rather angry about it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Abi3hgIxtNM

But after closer examination it looks to me to be staged to give the impression that the Ban Garda is attempting to confiscate an Irish flag on the grounds that it is offensive to the Queen. When she is really just trying to confiscate the flag pole, whether it is attached to the flag or not.

At the end of the video you can clearly hear the Garda say "I'm taking the flag pole, thank you" and then walks away with a flag pole. The video maker says there was no pole, she also vets the comments to weed out any negative opinions which contradict what she's trying to do.

There's always people who are so eager to cause trouble (through violence or lies) who undermine the genuine protesters and create an atmosphere of hostility towards anyone who criticises things like this. A small group of idiots who decide that lies and deceit to promote hatred of the police force is the way to go.

Yup. I submitted a number of polite yet blunt comments to her video and none of them were used.Twas a staged and orchestrated stitch up job. If nation wide peace broke out in the morning all these folk would have to find a new hobby,

The Garda (hate the use of the term Bean Garda) made a mistake in not saying it was the flagpole she was after. They guards were clear abotu that when they confiscated union flags from supporters of Peter Robinson during his courtcase for the Clontibret invasion

Don't get me wrong - the woman is a twat and the Garda was doing her best on a stressful day. Just she should have been told to make it clear it was flagpoles they were confiscating

Utter setup. Some people spend their time looking for a row where none exists.

anyway, shouldn't she have been carrying a union jack?

I kept the flag which was folded in my left hand and not attacked to the stick

she takes off quickly with the stick as it was not attacked to the flag

i will quote her "under the warrant you cannot have the flag" (WHICH WAS NOT ATTACKED TO A STICK)

She has three separate comments and an issue in each one
I assume she must mean attached

I'm not being a grammer nazi, might be a slip, thinking of attacked so types it

There's actually a comment on there somewhere from the woman who posted the video admitting she was allowed keep the flag and the garda went off with the pole. Now she just needs to clarify why she claimed she was threatened with arrest when the garda makes no mention.

The Garda (hate the use of the term Bean Garda)

Eh, no such term, so how can you hate it?

sorry that was a typo. If you read the OP he said "ban garda"

Up until 1990 female officers were officially bangharda which translates as "female police officer" - as if that is worth mentioning

That would depend on the opinion formed by the Garda , and the attitude of course .

A ban-garda skipped me in a queue for coffee this morning. I don't have a youtube link to it.

Good. You can clearly hear her say she's taking away the flag. She deserves all the embarassment she has to deal with, and then some.
