    Imagine finding out it was fake after shelling out a fortune for flights and accomodation.

    well, maybe, but surely it would be worth it for the sake of a mere tenner? and living in barcelona, you'd be bound to know somebody with real tickets to compare against

    Ok so based on that assumption I could just print myself a heap of fake tickets, head for Manchester or Barcelona, and make a mint taking tenners of people.

    OR! you could act like an informed supporter and look for the known marks of authenticity on the tickets i.e. one side is glossy and one side is matte finished separated by a green strip clearly visible from the side. Also the holograms, there forgeable but thats far from a simple print job.
