    Hi

A question for all those working in the law business from someone about to start a career in law.

Are there any areas of law that are more transferable than others? What I mean by this is

    a) In what particular areas of law is it easier to use your skills to transfer from that area to another area of law? For example, if you specialise in criminal law is it easy to transfer to a different area of law eg family law.

Are there any areas that don't transfer well at all?

    also

    b) is there an area of law that transfers better internationally - say from Ireland to Australia or vice versa?

    Thanks

Can't comment about trnsferability - you qualify as either a barrister or a solicitor, and develope specialities later depending on what your interests are and what work is available.

e.g in the bool a lot of work available for conveyancers and planning law specialists. not so much of that now.

Unless you consider you have a vocation for law and are really interested in it, think of something else.

It is tough out there, and getting worse.
