I have received several phone calls in the past day but I have not answered them. I know who they are from and I know their main aim is to get under my skin and make a full out of me in front of others (due to the time of calls I know he is with a group).

    What can I do?

If you've only recieved a few calls in the last day then there's not much you can do about it.

If its been going on for a few weeks and you've kept a record of the calls, time and dates then you can make a complaint to the Gardai but they won't be able to do anything unless you have been threatened or feel fearful.

For the record I've been receiveing silent calls from a private number for the last year, at least 2 a day, sometimes up to 20 calls a day, and I was told by the Gardai that they could do nothing. I have a second number that I now use, and I downloaded an app to block unwanted calls. My life is bliss now!

    Put your phone on silent.

If they're from a private number the gardai probably won't bother getting involved. You could:

Record the time of each call and if there are any messages etc. record them.

    Get a new phone number

Try leaving your phone off unless you absolutely need to use it and whoever it is will get bored.

Could you make a complaint to your service provider?

It mightn't be any help, but if there's nothing the Guards can do it might be worth a try.

Worst case scenario, you could always change your number. But you really shouldn't have to.

contact the Gardaí if it continues, you are doing the right thing by not answering eventually they will get tired and stop calling you.

if the calls are consistently coming at late or predictable hours you could take your sim card out of your phone ( or unplug your landline ) and return everything in the morning. If the number keeps ringing out they might get tired a little quicker.
