Do you ever see a username and think " I know that person!"? either by the name itself or the style of writing or a particular phrase used?

The things that keep me awake at night...

Yep, I’ve recognised my ex, his posts had w*nker written all over it.

Ya, it depends on the forum in question. You get used to seeing the same usernames and their style of posts.

I have, and it's strange. You could appear like a mad stalker sending them a message asking are you so-and-so!

What is the etiquette? More recently I recognised a relative...interesting. Velly velly interesting.

Is that more people you know from online or in life?

I dont think ive ever thought too much about it. I read the cycling forum alot and prob know alot of the people who post there from racing but i think thats the positive of boards, they can be anonymous

Makes people speak their mind i think

A mate of mine actually saw a post I wrote on Wednesday and sent me a txt because he recognised my ID.

I've been using it for about 8 or so years...

i always smile at the notion that you could disagree with someones opinion here and agree to disagree and maybe feel a bias towards then, yet maybe randomly say hello to them on a street and brighten their day and never know:)

maybe im just trying to see the bright side of everything

I recognised an old boss, but he had a fairly obvious username. A few of the guys in work are on Boards and I see them occasionally.

I spot people around Dublin every so often and recognise them from having posted their pictures on boards.

So I walk behind them and talk loudly about how all those nerds that post on that boards.ie site on the internet are total dweebs.

Yep seen a quote on this and on someones facebook and instantly knew it was the guy

Whatever about the username, I don't post any pics of me or people I know that can link back to who I am.

AH is full of serial killers, anyways.

I've tracked down a few of my friends but I'd never tell them I know who they are on boards.

Someone spotted me from info I gave away here and my username combined. Sent me a private message but couldn't divulge how he knew me, which I personally think is rude. He was happy enough to confirm my identity but not his own. Yeah! You know who you are, buddy! :D

It's really not that hard to figure some people out. Ive gotten a few, without them having posted up pictures. :)

I love it! Well very glad I'm not the only one recognising people, although there is rarely something I would say online that I wouldn't say anywhere else...ok theres a FEW things I might not say;)

I wonder if anyone has recognised their partner online? like a modern day "if you like pina coladas" story. (whats that song called)

Hahaaa I confess I also do it when I get a text or email from someone I don't like, I read it in my head an exaggerated mimicing voice.

Two girls I know from here because they use the same nick for years on every site including facebook. Just google the nick and all the sites and facepics pop up.

I found 4 people I know on here. I said it to one of them as he's a good friend, the other 3 are just neighbours and stuff. It'd be fairly easy to work out who I am, my username isn't very cryptic.
