Congratulations to Taveys on a job well done on the City Arms in the Cup Final last night.5-2 final result. 1 leg is such a good leveler for 2 teams who finished 4th and 5th in the leauge.Taveys have always made a good account of themselves in the leauge and over the years have never beatin the Arms in a competitive game of darts. But that record was put to bed last night with a convincing performance by Taveys. The Arms were on the back foot from the off and always chasing the game 2-0 down then 2-1 then 3-1 down then 3-2 and it looked like the tables would turn when the arms were sitting on a double for 3-3
when veteran Robbie Carroll popped up with a bull finish on 86 (18/18/ Bull) to make it 4-2. The next leg was an understandable nervous leg for both players with both players having numerous shots at the double but Taveys prevailed with Mr Eagers hitting the all important double to give Taveys their first ever Cup triumph.Taveys thoughourly deserved their victory on the night and a proud Paul Cahill stepped forward to claim the cup(without an ounce of begrudgery by the arms).Once again congratulations to Taveys and to the City Arms keep the faith we have a good squad and our day will come. Roll on next season. (Funny auld game is darts):)
