Just wondering how schools can be advertising permanent jobs on websites?I was under the impression that there was a moratorium on these positions? Just wondering as I am waiting to hear if my job is still mine in Sept as it had to go forward to the redeployment panel

    Primary or secondary?

Secondary, saw one myself online after hearing a younger teacher saying she was applying for it. That said, she was quick to point out the school in question always appears to do what it likes, has a repuation for having teachers with no qualification in specialised subjects teaching them too. We were all baffled today when she told us they have a permanent job advertised, I can't explain it!

The freeze was until next September was it not? (the link is to the initial RTÉ report on the freeze) Assumng that I am not missing some further update to the story, schools would be entitled to advertise such jobs that would start next September.

there have not really been any full time jobs advertised in the last two years, yet some adverts announce permanent full time meaning full hours for a few months.

The worst ones are the job interviews you go to for jobs that are already taken, but they still have to go through the motions.

    Report to whom?
If they are out of line, then the DES and/or your union.

I saw that too. Does anyone know how this is possible?

It did say last year that the moratorium was to last until Sept so I assume that schools are taking it that it does not apply for the coming school year.
