Will there ever be a dog park in waterford..?

I was speaking to teh vet in tramoer who runs anipets in teh business park last week and he was stating he and a select few were trying to get one arranged for the tramore area, but there wasnt many details spoken of the exact set up or location etc..

How do people feel about this.?

For dogs big and small alike, an for all the people not having their dogs socialised, an ideal situation would be to have a dog park in the area where people can go to bring the beloved pooch for the dog an human alike to make friends an mix..

I feel its a shame that ireland as a hole, with the amount of people that own dogs been so high but yet still we have very little areas/parks to bring them in peace in a secure enviroment where they can be dogs an us as owners can be peace in mind knowing that our pets are safe an running free outside.

Im sure this may have been asked or mentioned before in some threads elsewhere but im just getting it off my chest, please add your taughts and opinons.

Luk forward to the responses. :):D

    Hi Kennyw

I think that would be a great idea... Leave them run riot for a while!!

A great spot to have it in Tramore would be down by the boating lake. They could build an area specially for dogs beside this famous"people's park" effort they are supposed to be putting down there. !!!!

    Regards

    thanks for the reply smasher,

The vet was stating that the location maybe in or around near the busniess park sumwhere within the Idustrial estate.

I personally think any space thats big enugh that can be used should be used, location isnt really the most important factor once its away from the main roads and has some peace and quiet for owners an dogs alike to enjoy themselfs in the summer sun.

Tramore wud be a distance issue for some people living in the city mind you but im sure if they love theer dogs enugh they soon find a way out to let them enjoy streching there four legs.. :D

Its a shame that ireland as a whole with its big animal culture doesnt have the facilities to be able to cater for such a vast amount of pets. shame on the country really..

    Its mad isnt it steve..

For a country full of people with dogs, an then not a single dog friendly park outside of the big smoke.. its sumthing that wud pay off big time for the morale of the county/town/city its in.

there wud so much to offer from it. an yet they wont bother getting one set up..

Has there ever been any talks at all down in dungarvan in recent or past times for getting one up an running.??

Steve what about the beach the dogs are allowed on parts of it. My mom lives in abbeyside and often takes hers down there and when i visit we take all 3. But i agree a dog park would be good or even a socialisation class as there's not one around there.
