    I have a dell vostro laptop a860 with a single 1GB stick of DDR2 PC2-6400S: http://amzn.to/kGZ3s5

Would there be any problem adding one of these: http://amzn.to/lUqmc1

I'm wondering if they should or would be better matched.

You could, but the faster one would underclock itself to match the lower speed. Better off getting two the same. (Whether that's of the faster RAM, or slower RAM, is up to you.)
