Injury Query & Speed Query

    Unfortunately I tweaked my hamstring last week. I didn't really think it was anything at all just a tiny tweak from not warming up properly.

    The pain went out of the hamstring within a day or two and I was able to pretty much stretch it as normal over the weekend.

    Then I went out to play sport this evening, warmed properly but could feel my hamstring beginning to tighten up. Then once we started it became very tight within a couple of minutes and I basically had to give up on it. It's still very tight and in pain now.

    I didn't pull it tonight it just tighten up on me again.

    I'm wondering what's the best way to go about getting back running and playing sport? I've two weeks off from playing now, is it realistic that I'd be able to get back playing in two weeks or will it just tighten up like tonight again?

    Also - I'm 22 but have lost a good bit of my speed from when I was younger. I'm wondering if you guys could recommend the best way to get some of my speed back? It's hardly old age kicking in yet! I used to be very quick when I was younger but have lost it!

    I'm not in the best shape of my life (properly 17%ish bodyfat)... I'm 5'8" and weight 11 stone. Over the last few month I increased my fitness from basically zero to a reasonable level (nothing spectacular but okay).

    Any advice would be greatly received.

    A physio will be more insightful than anyone here can be seeing as we're not qualified to treat injuries, and those that are can't do so without examining you.
