Cholesterol lowering foods

I'm looking to reduce my cholesterol level and while I've got some literature about what to eat and not eat, the food looks a bit bland.

Got any tips to add flavourings to dinners and lunches without increasing cholesterol? Any spices I can add? I normally throw in sauce of some sort but I want to avoid that. But I don't know how to healthily flavour the food.

    Any tips?

As a general rule, you can add herbs and spices ad lib to any diet without significantly affecting calories, carbs or cholesterol. I'm a huge fan of Tabasco as well. A couple of drops will give a kick to anything.

However, I would suggest you do some reading on this board about cholesterol, as the knee-jerk reaction to high cholesterol is often to cut out all foods containing fat, and attempt to live on brown rice and egg whites. Not a recipe for success.

Do you have a breakdown of your cholesterol ratios? What is your HDL and LDL, and do you know your triglyceride levels?
