Evening all, are we all set for the madness and mayhem the buying task brings... not to mention some egos getting deflated? I've been looking forward to this since last thursday:D

I think this one could be good for Jim, he seemed to be good at getting a good deal in the first task, so I'd say he'll shine in this one (at least I hope he does)

It was said on the last thread but there are a lot on the women's team who got very little attention.

I feel I'm a lot more familiar with the lads so far

No room to hide this week, ;)
everyone will be in small groups

Good evening folks :) Can't wait to see Jim tonight. However, I reckon that alot of the lads will want to take him out (no jokes pls) after last week's performance in the boardroom.

The actor? If so, I really would have preferred not to know that, thanks.

I've been liking Gavin the last couple of times, hoping he doesn't screw it up this week by being PM.

Why would anyone give out their list to competitors. That'd never happen!

I'd say they were hoping that they might have picked up a freebie. Drycleaners often have unclaimed items of clothing.

Can I ask why they are shopping in Mayfair, one of the most upmarket areas of London??

I remember a few years ago, a team went to the East End and bought cheaper

Last year, Nick ripped apart a team for buying in an expensive area. I see the same mistakes here

"Vincent and his girls"? Makes him sound like Hugh Hefner.

These lads know nothing about negotiating. How are these people in business?

Think you may be giving them more credit than they are due.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 553 ✭✭✭flower tattoo

When they start making all the calls originally are they not allowed to ask the price? And can they not move in smaller groups? Seems very strangest have 3 people buying a bell for 8 quid

lol, she knocked 500 off the price. What a joke!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,585 ✭✭✭✭Lady Chatterton

£900 for tea, their mad. It's not Dom Peringon.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,986 ✭✭✭✭mikemac

They bought £900 worth of tea for £410
That tea merchant is some rip off . She has a huuuuuuuge margin!

    Even then, they still overpaid

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,108 ✭✭✭RachaelVO

Both teams are totally fubared! They screwed it all up in one was or another!

must be only 2 cars per team or something. otherwise sub teams of 1 or 2 would be much more efficient.

I see they have gone with a fixed penalty again this year. Always think a variable penalty would work better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,945 ✭✭✭D-Generate

Last year the team that won didn't get a lot of items but the list price + £50 came in a heck of a lot less than buying in the expensive shops so they won it.

No a great advert for her business. She looks like a rip off merchant not a tea merchant

It didn't show the name of the business so I doubt if it will affect business.

Yep, no point coming back with all the items if you spend mental money.
