My laptops running Windows 7 and whenever I wake it from sleep there's no audio. I then have to restart it and it's all normal.

Any ideas what could be wrong with it?

    Thanks for any help.

right side of the task bar there is an icon for sound(speaker icon)

click on it and click on mixer then you can see device sound & system sound. check for red mark on the speaker icon and if red just click on it.
    close that window.

Also configure sound in control panel

    hope this may help

    good luck:)

    which laptop?

update sound driver. if that doesn't solve the problem go for system restore.

1215n Asus. Latest driver installed, think that it might be this driver so might try and rollback to the previous version.
