I live in america and want badly to live in another part of the world. I've done a lot of thinking about this and have thought that I would be a good fit for ireland. I like the country and from what I have read, the people there and myself would get along well. I've done a lot of studying and research on some of the basic things and I think I would be able to manage my time there well.

Is there anyone on here that would know of a way that I could get a job over there? I am working on the ability to get there and some money that I can get started on my life there.

I don't like what the government is doing with this country and I don't trust them at all. If you have any words of advice, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance! :-)

First you will need a work visa. You can't get any further without that.

Also there is a spectacular lack of jobs here and the economy is in a worse condition than the US - mainly because there are much less of us and we have less clout. Thats putting it fairly baldly but is pretty much the situation.

Have you not noticed what happened in Ireland?
Also, do you hate warm and sunny weather?

My advice would be don't come.

It's depressing, rife with greed and corruption, an inept government, horrible weather and little to do by way of recreational or cultural pursuits when compared with other countries.

Don't expect to find a job. Or anywhere particularly nice to live.

If you do come, never, ever read/watch the news. It's become unbearable.

Um...yeah, we're not that bad, but seriously, there's no jobs here. And Dublin ain't cheap to live in.

Don't want to rain on your parade OP, but you really, really need to investigate the job situation before you come over here. That should be top of your list (after Visas of course)

Even if you have a Visa the job situation is dreadful - unemployment at almost 15% , thats the official ( i.e. low side figure ).

OP: what are you qualified in? Although the jobs market here is dire, if you have a degree in a certain sector, there may be companies looking for your skillset. Said companies may also sort out the greencard if they need you bad enough.
