    Hey everyone

Just wanted to give some info on our upcoming event and also some info about the prizes on offer.....

This event is the first of its kind and around the south east and we plan to make it an annual event with proceeds going to charity.
We're not aiming this solely at the elite cyclists but are trying to make this a fun and family orientated day out with a fancy dress and junior event, and for an extra bit of craic we have a fancy dress section with a prize for the best dressed finisher, for the speed demon we have a predict your time event also, the winner being the one closest to their guess.

Prize wise we have an awesome prize for the senior King of the hill and Queen of the hill events. The winner of each will recieve a Sram Red Groupset. The Sram Red Gear system is the pinnacle of performance and RRP is €1499.00.

We will have more prizes and I'll update ASAP with more info

    Thanks!!

You might want to stick the date (Sunday 29 May) on the thread title.

does anyone know the distance and grade of this climb might give it a go.

had a go at it last night..have to be careful though as its one way traffic for half of it!!..

stats show that it is roughly 380m...not sure exactly where finish is... gradients vary from 7% all the way up to 15% for some short sections...its a tricky one really if you go off to quickly you`ll burn up by the half way mark, however you need the momentum to get you over the steep sectons in the middle...

hope the weather holds for Sunday...I could do with a SRAM Red groupset:D...might have a better chance in the fancy dress tho!

Here's the route. Don't mind the speed of this dry run, as I walked up. It's 405 metres long with a max gradient of 16.5% and an average of almost 10%

I went out to this today and it was a great event, a really nice buzz around the town - full marks to the organisers / the lads in Spokes who managed to get some prizes in these testing times.....

Not all were seriously aiming for the prizes, but everyone looked they were having fun, young and old alike.
