    Hi,

We are participating in an innovation and entrepreneurial competition and we have the idea of crisp sandwiches. The crisps would be Tayto and would be sold for a cheap price of about 1.50.

We have tested in college and received a very positive response and we are trying to develop the idea further.

Please feel free to give your opinion of the idea any any advice or ideas.

    Thanks very much!

I reckon your target market is too small - university cafeteria's, and at 1.50 a student might just bring bread from home and a buy a pack of crisps and do it for less then a euro. Hard to build a business with such a small market. And so they might see your idea as too small overall.

You probably wouldnt get too many marks on the innovation scale either because its not really a new concept.

I did eat a lot of crisp sandwiches in college though, hula hoops in particular were very good :D

Personally I think the product mix is wrong. Will your clients know that the crisps are Tayto? Will they care? Walker's are cheaper to buy wholesale. I'd recommend buying 6 packs / 12 packs as these in turn work out cheaper again. The packs are smaller but they're cheaper in general.

Maybe go to Largo and ask them if they can provide Tayto in huge bags to reduce the price.

Are you using butter? Spreads are generally cheaper. They can be purchased in large containers from wholesalers.

Don't buy the bread in Aldi.

    Hope that helps.

edit: Oh cwap ... my shtung ish schtuck in the shide of my moush......
