excellently put together, but an extremely tough question.

It is interesting watching people think of their answer to the question.

Yep, think I'd just stand there humming and hawing for half an hour!

Can't view it in work, but what's the one question they're asked??

It is great. Really poignant in parts. Thanks for posting it.:)

Do you think the Queen will survive her visit in Ireland.

Really though, the question is 'whats you biggest regret in life'.

    Great video.

I think it kind of ruins it knowing the question before watching the video.

Anywho, great video and a few familiar faces too :)

    ****in hell
the guy leaving his family in cameroon
the guy marrying his girl after 50 years
the guy who said "my drinking"
the girl who didnt spend enough time with her dad before he passed away sent me over the edge

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 133 ✭✭mrsweebri

ooh i really liked it. Got me thinking about my answer - immediate reflex is je ne regret rien but is that really honest?

BTW did anyone else really hope the one talking about cheating on his fourteen year old girlfriend wasn't talking about something that happened in the last 10 years??

i got the sense that he meant girlfriend OF 14 years, but yeah he worded it stangely

Don't be it's pissing rain, cold with bland grey skies, don't be fooled by romantic music on well shot videos ... and roadworks on domnick street has traffic in a sh1t.

    Wow, just wow.

    Such a beautiful video.

I think it's interesting that the vast majority of the regrets are things that people didn't do, rather than things they did do. I guess that's a lesson for all of us.

    Awwww

The guy in the Notre Dame jacket didn't marry his high school sweetheart and she moved away to Canada

They meet 50 years later and are now happily married

I hope this isn't the same guy but the name rang a bell because I only saw it in the paper last week:

I just found it coincidental. Sad.

On youtube, there is a comment under the video, sayign how sad it is that one of the people in the video died last week. Hope it isn't the same chap, but if it is, may he rest in peace

:( jesus adds a whole new dimension to that video.

God that video has me getting emotional, the frank answers and their faces. Regrets is something I've alway been afraid of but as you can see from that video holding back out of fear can be a bad thing too. Something for me to think about anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭WesternNight

Aw no :( That was one of the few that really broke my heart. Very very sad :(

Does anyone know for sure if that was the same guy??? Cripes he really struck a chord with me. That and the guy marring his wife after 50 years..

Excellently edited. Well done to those involved!

Incredibly moving video and everybody in it we see everyday, including in the mirror. Great video and if the guy who died is the drinking guy that is so so sad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,092 ✭✭✭pseudonym1

OMG his niece just posted on you tube... He took his own life.

There was really something mesmerising about that guy not just his handsome and sensitive demeanour. Bloody drink it is such a horrible addiction that makes people think there is no getting away from it.

My sympathies and thoughts with those who knew him. May he rest in peace.

    Woh, steady on.

In the obituary for Thomas Lohan on Galwaynews.ie, it says "donations to Cancer Care West". Which suggests that the person died from cancer.

Be very careful believing any comments on youtube.

We can't know anything for certain. Be respectful towards him and his family by not speculating.

Erm, you're speculating that he died of cancer based on very little actual evidence...

Such a sad thing, my thoughts go out to his family:(

I said that it SUGGESTS that the Thomas Lohan mentioned in the obituary (not necessarily the same man as in the video) died of cancer. I have not said that he did die of cancer or that the man in the video did.

I was just pointing out that taking a comment from youtube and believing it as fact is dangerous.

Can we just stop discussing this altogether? It doesn't feel right.

A Thomas Bohan from Mayo died on the 11th May. Sure it could be coincidental.

His name is Thomas Bohan, not Thomas Lohan.

    Plus there's the age difference
The guy in the video is 41 and the guy in the link is 40

    Nice video

That perfectly encapsulates what I would consider to be a work of art. It generated a significant emotional response and the quality of production didn't take away from the subject matter. Seriously well done ;)

As for the interviewees, WOW!. Every one of us (I'm sure) can relate to some of the responses that feature in the video. However I don't know would I stand in front of camera on the street and talk about it, but I really respect & admire the courage of those that did.

My biggest regret is being seconds too late to say goodbye to the man that raised me, even though I managed to get as far as his hospital ward. I regret that an awful lot & I miss him terribly :( For my own sanity I try to imagine what he would say to me if he knew I felt the way I did. He'd tell me to STFU and then make tea :)

If you guys like these, look on youtube, its been done in other cities around the world before, similar music/camera styles, great idea whoever first did it.

Congrats Kamil, as always fantastic work. Fair play to all at G.C.C.! Did an interview with their film crew before, unreal professional so am not surprised by this at all. Heart-warming to say the least!
