Been to court twice. Just counting the votes. Oh nil point. Fuwicking hillarious. Don't let court scare you, if everyone went to court, it would bog this ridiculous scam into the ground. Don't even get me started about the nct, ah ya gotta luv' the aul sod.

Sorry Kbannon I usually agree with a lot your stuff, but the robot vans are doing people for being a few Kmh over the limit on perfectly straight roads in good weather, this is just a huge scam. people deserve a day in court. and not be treated like sheep. Rant what rant I need to sit down.

I see this as good news

When you actually want to see people caught and given points I think it's time to step outside, take a deep breath of fresh air and realise you're taking things far too seriously.

Maybe so, but why bother having penalty points at all then, and just let everyone drive as fast and as irresponsibly as they like.

Its not about wanting to see people getting points, but if someone is regularly driving in a manner that will eventually kill someone, maybe a few well deserved points might stop them eventually. But not if they can go into court knowing the penalty points are practically a myth.

I don't know about the penalty points. I suppose its down to somethingmustbedoneaboutitness, regulatory creep and what have you.

it seems a very petty and automated system of law enforcement and it does more to alienate the public than anything else. if someone was clearly acting the bollix and got caught, brought to court and banned it wouldn't be so bad. but everyone's bound to **** up at some stage and there are very few people who havn't done 110 where's there a limit of 100.

tis a bit like the penalty fares system they use on the trains in england, not aimed at regular fare evaders but fellas who fall asleep on the train and miss their stop and can't be bothered with the hassle of appealing it and just pay.

Yes i cant say i disagree with that, a lot of it is silly alright the way they go about it, good comparison there with the enlgand trains thing, thats just what its like.

I never said that I agreed with them. I just have a pain in my hole listening to people who are looking for a way out after being caught a few km over on a straight stretch in clear daylight (yet never saw the van)

Am I missing something here? How come you "automatically" get the points added to your licence for a speding fine in court whereas if you go to court for a different offence - you don't get the points?

We discussed this at length a year ago, maybe even two. It's good to see nothing has been done about this scandal in the meantime :rolleyes:
