    Hi

I went to a speed dating event last week. It was my 4th in the last 2 years . It was great fun and met really nice , sound women ( im male , 29 ) . I was honest about everything i said and worked as ( I.T) .

The next day i got the results ( its like the leaving cert :) ) and i got 4 friendship matches which is good but i feel disheartened and down that i haven't got an actual dating match and i don't know whether i should bother with going to one of these events again . Im not looking to pickup desperate women.. thats not what im after . Maybe its just me that i havent 'clicked' with anybody yet or maybe its something that i doing or saying wrong :(

Im just curious to know if anybody else has had tried speed dating and if so , what were their experience good , bad , indifferent?. Is a friendship match just a nice way of saying PFO?

Im just trying to make up my mind if i should bother with it again or move on

    Thanks for your time .

I haven't been to any of these events so I can't offer advise on them in general.

But I will say seeing as you've enjoyed them keep going, all it takes is for one woman to show up on a certain night and you could strike gold :)

I haven't been speed dating, I'm not as brave, but I would say that a friendship match means 'You might well GROW on me, If I like your PERSONALITY then your looks certainly wouldn't be a deal breaker". Does that sound really blunt? I know that most people look normal enough. They either grow on you or they don't. ALthough maybe it might be different for men. Maybe they know within seconds of meeting somebody whether they're interested or not because that decision is made primarily on looks (am I doing men an injustice here?) I think for women a man who is average looking can be either really really attractive or totally UNattractive to you depending on whether he is intersting, good humoured, confident, SANE!

I'd definitely bother to meet up with the friendship matches. But then again maybe you're just after a shag, in which case that wouldn't be the quickest way.
