Another BBC DAB - Newcastle NI

    Just heard the news this evening that the Newcastle transmitter at Drinahilly Forest is set for a new high power BBC DAB transmitter. Provisionally it will be rated for 5Kw and will apparently include an expansion of the 12D local multiplex.

    4 screened dipoles increasing the structure to 40m. 1x equipment cabin associated GPS antennas. 1.8m ground supported satellite dish.

    Thanks for the update,hope "In car reception"works throughout the Mournes.Never got a reply on my query "How to connect a better aerial to a Dab portable,which only has a telescopic aerial?Di-pole,log periodic etc."
    Very hard to get info on Dab relays in N.I Post code checker no use when Dx-ing.Best sig so far seems to be from RTE at this local.
