Question About Teaching

Hey guys. I'm planning to do a joint Education and Woodwork/Tech Graph degree in UL, and although I will hopefully be able to find a job at the end of it, would my degree be worth anything outside of Ireland, i.e teaching these subjects in Britain? Can I do this straight away or would I need to have further qualifications to teach abroad? Thanks.

I have done this course and it is a very good course. The hours are long, but it's interesting and UL is a great spot! Teaching jobs are thin on the ground at the moment, it's important you know this before you begin.

As for the qualification abroad, a lot of my friends have gone to the UK and found work no problem at all. There is good demand over there for people with this degree.

    Best of luck with it

Brilliant, thanks very much. I understand that jobs are not being handed out like they used to but I'm prepared to put in the extra effort, and love the idea of being able to teach out of Ireland should the need arise.
