Hi first of all my appoligies if this is posted to the wrong section if so can a moderator please change it to the correct section.

I was on my way into work today and got stop from going into my place of work by the garda, my employer even came to the garda and i wasn't allowed to proceed.

I was told if i dont move i be arrested for public order offences and i may stress that i was not agressive or anything to the garda.

I went to the local garda station and was speaking to a nice sargent who listen to my story and contacted my employer and said i be allowed to pass.

When i went back i was refused and i phoned up this sargent who got intouch with somebody and allowed me to proceed to work.

I was carrying a laptop and files and these were search  and the garda broke the zip on my laptop case and then had the cheek to say why i open the zip up again to let the contents spill out on to the street.

I am just wondering if anybody else had similar stories etc

You're right, this has nothing to do with News and Media.

I noticed on the RTE radio 1 o'clock news today (Wed.) that they consistently refer to QE2 as 'Queen Elizabeth the second' right the way through i.e. one reporter was in St. James Gate talking to people who met QE2 when she visited the Storehouse and to each of the people he interviewed he said 'you've just met Queen Elizabeth the second, what did she say to you?'

Obviously an editorial decision lest any reporter or newsreader commit a mortal sin and refer to her as 'the queen'

Jeez, wouldn't fancy getting stuck beside you at a dinner. It's just an observation, move on.

Why should I move on, you move on. I'm very happy where I am.
