    once you're not actually planning on using them for running / jogging. They are NOT proper running / jogging shoes.

    He/she is just being anal because they're not designed specifically for running. They're fine for running for the vast majority of people (i.e. those that don't run competitively or do serious mileage every week). They're just not ideal or specifically made for the sole purpose of running (e.g. Newton's, Aasics, Nike frees or Vibrams).
