Travel Republic

I am booking a hotel in Krakow and Travel Republic comes in much cheaper than other sites. It is 30% cheaper than booking with the hotel directly. I was wondering if the site is safe - I have seen varying reviews on other travel forums. I have friends who used Travel Republic and had no problems. I would appreciate any comments.

    Thank you

I used them before and had no troubles at all. I even rang up to change dates after booking and they didn't charge anything extra so I'd be more than happy to use them again.

I booked a holiday on travel republic for €1. I tried to cancel it in March and never got any response from them. I then got an email asking me to pay the balance of the holiday, more than €1500. It was very difficult to cancel the holiday and now they want me to pay €300 to cancel. I feel it is very misleading to say book a holiday for €1.00, when as soon as you do this you are fully liable to pay a cancellation fee. If I had known this I would never have booked the hotel. Does anyone know what I can do? PLEASE PLEASE BEWARE.

Hi olliem15 I also booked a few hotels during this advertised €1 booking sale, booked a few hotels for same dates of stay, I then decided on one of my bookings and emailed them to cancel the others, they wanted me to pay cancellation fees. When I made these 1€ bookings I checked their cancellation conditions and they stated loss of deposit, but when I checked their cancellation conditions later they had changed on their website to state the 1€ plus % of total hotel booking. I argued this with them via email eventually they settled for a €20 administration fee. My advice to you is to state when you booked it stated loss of deposit for cancellation which was1€. You need to play hardball with them and probably be prepared to pay circa €50. But I agree it was very sneaky to advertise 1€ deposit holidays/hotels.

I have had a problem with a booking that I made on the travelrepublic.ie website. The accommodation confirmation email I received was for a different hotel to the one I booked and the company are refusing to amend the booking to my intended hotel. This has never happened to me before despite using travel websites on a regular basis. Has anyone had a similar problem?
