Worth spending the extra on an induction hob?

I've been looking at buying a Miele induction hob (1k+) and Meile cooker (2K+).

I was up in Newry today and saw a Whirlpool (yes, I know) induction hob on special for £299.

It looked very similar to the Miele. A question to those in the know - are all induction hobs the same, or is it worthwhile splashing out on a German brand?

Siemens is very well regarded in comparison to Miele.
I have a Siemens induction hob, and it's great!
But then again, some would say one hob is as good as another.
One thing I do find excellent on it is the speed of boiling is like nothing I've seen before.

I bought this one from IKEA in October 2009. Never had any problems with it. I changed from gas and found the temperature control just as good.

    For €299 it's a bargain. Although it's IKEA branded, it's actually Whirlpool.

Can't say I've found a huge amount of difference in hobs. Nothing in the world that would entice me to spend over a grand on a hob.
