Hi everyone. I am in the middle of updating my payroll software (thesaurus) with 2 new employees who have been getting jobseekers allowance since before Jan 2011. I have recieved their tax credit certs from the revenue and have entered their details. I put in their gross at 600 and it came back that they would have a net payment of 531.18. I expected their net to be less than this. Im not complaining im just wondering if i entered their details right. Am i right in not entering any cumulatives since Jan 1st 2011 since they had no employment in 2011 up until now. Is their net payment this "high" because of them startng employment in mid year.

I would imagine the net is that high because of the tax credits, they would still get the credits for the full year, credits would be cumlative for each week up until now.

Will their net pay gradually decrease the more they use up their tax credits so. They will be working with me for approx 6-7weeks. Will their net pay be affected much in this time frame. Cheers

No the net pay wont change at all over the 6/7 weeks,

I have worked this out assuming they are on the standard weekly cut off 630.77 and personal/paye weekly credit 64.04, with no children etc.

If you want to pm your email I will, mail the spread sheet to you.

Presuming they are on a cumulative basis and they have started with you this week (week 20 on the payroll calendar) they wont pay and tax until week 41 (€14.36) and then €55.96 per week untill the end of the year.

That is basing their tax credits are for a standard single person.

1 of the guys is single with a young daughter and the other is married with 4 young kids (still in school). His wife works a few hours a week thats all.
Single person weekly tax credit is 63.47 and weekly cop is 630.77
Married person weekly tax credit is 96.04 and weekly cop is 803.85.
Both have a gross of 600 per week.
    Cheers for all the help.
