I have a certificate for level 5 in agriculture(180hr course) and i wonder is that sufficent enough to buy milk quota as a new entrant under 35 or do i have to complete the green cert before i enter. I looked up the deparment website but it still sheds no light in my situation. thank you

checked with teagasc advisor today and he thinks level 5 ok, i read the dept spec and cant figure out does fetac cert in farming ok or do you also need a cert in dairying or drystock(Advanced cert). please can sum1 shed sum light on this

look at the cert you got is it 'fetac certificate in farming' (2nd on the list). in last weeks farming supplement with thursdays examiner it said record level of people applying so the dept will have more requirements making an advanced cert in dairy herd mgt an advantage but not a requirement
