Ghost encounters

Anyone had any experiences with ghosts or what might be considered ghosts by others?
I personally haven't, and I don't believe that ghosts are the spirits of people, but I've known reliable skeptical people who've had experiences they couldn't explain.
I've also become interested in this explanation for ghost encounters, though I'm not sure it explains everything.

Basically I just love hearing about real-life apparent cases of ghosts and demons and sich.

(If any mod feels this should be in the paranormal section please move it, but I think responses there might be too one-sided as most people there seem like they'd be believers. And I'm looking for an AH response anyway :))

I normally encounter spirits, late at night and after I can't drink any more pints.

:) That's actually more convincing that most of the ghost videos on youtube! More convincing that any episode of Most Haunted too.

There is no such thing as ghosts.

    Inexplicable does not = paranormal.

    Oh yeah!?
Then how do you explain the spirit that possesses Yvette Fielding and makes her kick the cupboard in this clip!?

I'd prefer to have an explanation from the spirit that makes her dye her hair that colour.:p

:). In fairness I believe that a paranormal explanation for ghosts is very unlikely to be true, but I just love hearing real-life scary stories, even if it is just someone's overactive imagination or low-frequency soundwaves :).

What are sich? Are they like ghosts and are they usually good or evil do you think like most demons are?

Sich are double ghosts, basically the ghosts of ghosts that have been killed (like by the Ghostbusters).
They vacillate between good and evil, but can be easily swayed by groups of cool evil demons promising them they'll get laid by the ghosts of dead celebrities.

And nothing to do with me spelling "such" as "sich". Nope.

I'm beginning to think that you may be in favour of democracy for Moo, so you can break free of the social constraints that have been unfairly imposed on you and your heirs.

It's ridiculous, in this day and age, that no member of the Royal family can marry a ghost.

I neither dismiss or believe in ghosts (I know, Im getting splinters from sitting on the fence).

Anyway, a few years ago a friend of my was babysitting for a cousin of his in Sallynoggin, the kids were in bed asleep and he was watching telly. He heard calling "Mammy, Mammy..." he went upstairs and the two kids were fast asleep.

He said it to his cousin when she came in, and she said ah yeah, I've heard that loads of times. About 100 years ago (say, can't remember the exact number of years), there was a house fire in this house and 3 children, very young were killed. She also wondered what would happen if she answered their calls.

Now I don't know if it's true, but they are both reasonable sane people, but maybe it pays to sometimes have an open mind!

That's not a real ghost, it has to be something caught on a breeze or something - there has to be a reasonable and realistic explanation.

It's always scarier when it involves kids! I remember being terrified when I first watched The Exorcist as the only other person in the house was the kid I was babysitting who was asleep upstairs.
I kept expecting him to come flying down the stairs like a spider!
