Meteor Broadband Bill Pay - 50GB allowance?

I signed up to Meteor broadband bill pay and chose the 18 month contract for €24.99 because of the 30GB allowance. However when I checked my online account it states the allowance is 50GB. Does anybody know if Meteor changed the GB allowance or is it a mistake.

They might have upgraded their data transfer limits to compete with Three's new 60GB but you might want to call them before you go over the 30GB just to be certain that is your correct allowance.

How long has Three been doing the 60GB deal? We signed up to the 30GB deal a few months back, does this mean we're being upgraded?

I rang them about it this morning but they couldnt give me an answer as to weather I'd be upgraded to the 60GB package.

Today is the last day of my billing cycle and my cap will be reset tonight at midnight. When I go onto "my three" I see that there is a different credit amount of €3.75 applied to my acc other then the usual €8.20, again they couldnt tell me if this meant that I would be getting the 60GB package or not.

They told me to phone them back tomorrow after my cap is reset and if I dont have the extra GB then "They would do something for me?" they also said that existing customers "would be extremely angry" if they were not get the extra 15GB for an extra €3.75

I'd say that they will give all customers the extra GB's but ill know more tomorrow...

Keep me updated if you can please. Mine doesn't reset for another week or two.

Rang them at 9:15 and spent the usual 25mins on the phone on hold while they checked the information etc etc....

Turns out the €3.75 credit instead of the ~€8 that I was usually getting is because three have lowered their price to €29.99 for pro...

Im on the pro package so what that means for me is I get a reduction of €3.75 on my bill to bring it back to the usual €26.24 that I have been paying for the past 11months...Very funny that three can make that adjustment to my bill almost instantly but they cannot add the same €3.75 to my bill and put me on the new 60GB package because their computers wont allow it.

Three only care about obtaining new customers and could care less about existing ones.

Hopefully the 60GB will be there when the clock hits 12. I will be so annoyed if they don't upgrade us.

They already told me on the phone this evening that they wouldnt be upgrading me. They said that existing users cannot upgrade.

They then said that they would be looking into the whole thing because people are angry.

I wouldnt hold my breath though..

I'm going to try and ring them tomorrow as well. Probably pointless though. But the more voices ringing them, the more pressure on them to upgrade us.

Yeah the more people ringing the better i'd say. They should just let us give them some extra money and we get extra GB in return, Its a win/win situation for both.

Yeah I signed up to the 18 month contract for €24.99, I thought it was for 30GB but my online account states 50GB.

    Hey!

I just signed up to the 18 month, €19.99 with 20GB.

Does everyone get a broadband to go stick?

It says on the box 'pay as you go' but I am on bill pay.

Do you get this stick regardless?

    Thanks

Hey, I know it's 2 years on from original post but I'm in same boat, my online a/c saying total 50 available & contact said 'unlimited'. Advertised as 30G for 25E.
Did u figure out if u have 30 or 50G allowance?

    It's 50 - I go over 30 every month with no penalty.

    I'm on the 30GB (50GB) plan too,
and the only thing I can think of that makes sense is some legal issue or some deal with "other" broadband companies.
ie, on the meteor forum when anyone asks about this issue the moderators just say "I pm'd you about it" but they won't admit to the 50GB deal on the forum. WTF like?
It's weird because it should be a good marketing idea, why give 50GB if you only advertise 30GB?

by the way I get the 50GB every month, whatever it says when you check your usage is what you get, ie go over your usage and they charge..

I ran my sisters just over the 30GB (as per her contract) when I spotted the 50GB in her Online Account, she was billed for going over.

I believe they've added a term with something along the lines of "online account is only a guide to usage and not gospel" etc aswell to cover themselves.

Go slightly over for a month first and see if you get hit.

    ah right!!
    It makes sense now.

So if you don't contact them to confirm the change from 30GB to 50GB they will charge you for going over, and at 2c per MB that's €20 a GB, or worst case €400 for the extra 20GB.

    Now that is sneaky!
