I thought the fact that Ronnie's actual home is in Portugal was the most inaccurate thing about the post tbh.

Great clip though, excellent player too.

Exceptional player, left foot - right foot, and even a fine header of the ball.
    What a player.

Get him on a plane, bring him back from Spain… Viva Ronaldo!

He's even better now at Madrid than when he was at United, which I didn't think was possible.

Power, pace, brilliant in the air, superb finisher with an extraordinary ability to make the ball move in the air. One of my favourite players ever.

Amazing player. Didn't think he could get any better when he left Man U, but that notion has certainly been put to rest.

I remember playing the (very) old Championship Manager 01/02 and found him in it - he was only 16 but you could see that he would be a great player.

Ended up building his stats up by starting him in my youth team and then progressively giving him more first-team opportunities - developed into a great first-teamer.

What's more, Real Madrid have a remaining game left against already relegated Almeria who finished 20th. I reckon he could get a brace/hat-trick seeing as he got 9 goals in his last 3 games. (including 4 against Sevilla)

Slightly contentious issue that. Some argue he's overrated and in the same topic compared to Lionel Messi, said to be the best player in the world.

Hahah I had a debate with someone on here the other day who said he wasn't good at free kicks. Needless to say I lol'd.

He's a phenomenal athlete. What I hate about him is that his jogging pace when he composes himself for the shot is about as fast as most defenders sprinting pace. Great leap, 2 legs, great head, great acceleration, great speed and cool as a cucumber. Definitely one of the greatest players to play the game. 38 goals in 37 games in the league is disgustingly good. That is such a ridiculous statistic and he's not even a striker.

He's a freak and a sick kunt. Love watching him play because he's liable to do anything from anywhere.

Hahah even better. My bad I went off Madrid's matches played like a dumbass. Also he came on as a sub in 2 of those which makes it even better again.

A phenomenal player alright but I have to say something about his style of play leaves me utterly cold to everything he does on a football pitch, apart from an acknowledgement to the amazing stats. I felt the same when he was at Man U and I feel the same about Nani now.

I wonder if he'll ever leave Madrid, and where would he go if he did. Would love to see him back at OT but can't see it happening. Maybe if they win a few league titles and a CL or two he might feel the need for a fresh challenge but there are probably only a handful of clubs who could afford him

They guy is probably one of the best players in the air, his standing jump is absolutely phenomenal, I mean look at the picture in this thread, and look at any other picture of him jumping to head the ball, he's at least a metre in the air.

He has amazing pace and agility for such a tall guy (6foot 1, I think) I mean think of most of the lightning quick players, who springs to mind Walcott?, Lennon?, Hernandez? How tall are they? The answer is not very tall at all. His control, skills, technique for those humdinger free kicks is absolutely outstanding. His desire is immense, when he wants to, without all the 'diving' crap he could easily destroy any team.

However people see him as a footballer, but forget how much of an athlete he is. Slate me for looking at his body, but his physique is impeccable. Go on please google pics of him shirtless. (Don't let the wife see you ;) ) For a footballer his body is an absolute temple. He is an unatural specimen who is such a gifted footballer.

Ronaldo has always been a player who I adored, even after he left for Madrid, he was still one of my all time favourite players. Just how he played, that swagger, that sheer arrogance that followed him (see video), His touch, his vision, his calmness in front of goal. He is just an out and out goal machine.

I did prefer him as a winger at United, I loved seeing him beat three defenders with ease and smash in a perfect cross, but boy has he changed, he's a striker these days, scoring goals by the bucketload in Spain. I miss him lining out on European nights especially. I would love to see him to return to Old Trafford, and with his great relationship with SAF, why not? A long shot but we can all keep our hopes up.

    A legend forever.

Brilliant player, slightly unlucky that he's around the same time as Messi,he'd be the greatest player of his generation were it not for him.
Great for us fans to have those two gracing the game at the same time though, lucky us :)

He actually wasn't as effective as a winger tbh. I mean his crossing did come on leaps and bounds over the years, but even in the last couple of seasons with United he was most effective at making late runs into space (usually space that Rooney just vacated to drag a defender away from). As a winger he'd often let himself be led down blind alleys by his pace, and despite his technique he's not as effective as you'd think at beating his man, he doesn't have the same dribbling ability or the sudden changes in direction as say Messi. He's always been at his best as a striker tbh, when he can use his pace to latch onto a ball ahead of him.

What amazes me about the video is the sheer variety of goals scored.

I've always felt Ronaldo was underrated as a dribbling, he has incredible close control at pace, the issue is that he simply wants to make room for a shot and will shoot from anywhere within 40 yards of goal. He was at his best as a player imo in United's double year, Madrid have forced him more towards goals, but him as Rooney as a combination show you how good his all round play is, and how he isn't as selfish as he is made out to be.

    I miss him :)

The goal that will always define that particular team for me is this one. Sensational, unstoppable stuff. Pace and power like he shows there to sprint the length of the pitch and finish the move he started is priceless.

As much as it hurts to watch that's probably one of my favourite goals. End to end with minimal touches in seconds. Counter attacking at it's best.

That Ronaldo goal reminds me a bit of that brilliant Stephen Ireland goal for Man City against Hamburg. Was convinced he was the real deal when I saw him score that night. Hasn't quite turned out that way though. Wonder can he ever regain that magic. He was untouchable in 09.

Anyway back on topic one of my favourite ever Ronaldo goals is the wonderstrike against Porto. Sheer power. Unstoppable.

Great goal and video, except for that ****er of a commentator with his "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL". Does my head in when they do that - are they not embarrassed when they go on like that?

No because it sounds great. Only Footballs Fun Police could actually get annoyed by that.

He will get more at the weekend, hopefully beating Messi.

I don't get why people think Messi is good, when you have Iniesta and Xavi supplying ya you will score goals. We all know if a prime Zidane and Figo where there in place of Ozil and Di Maria (and an injury plagued Kaká) C.Ronaldo would have plenty more. Common sense.

On the other hand Usain Bolt is 6'5" and Anelka and Henry are over 6 foot... there's not really a pattern.

He is an incredible athlete though, it has to be said. He has an undeniable grace of movement and impeccable balance as well as the build that allows him to outrun and outjump almost anyone.

God that remix in the video is brutal. Has there ever been a football compilation set to music that doesn't make you want to kill whoever made it?

There's no need to bring the Messi argument into every thread about Ronaldo. We all know how good Messi is. Anyone who argues otherwise is just being stubborn.

That video of Ronaldo shows what an amazing player he is. He scores every sort of goal. Outside or inside the box, freekicks, penalties, tap-ins and he is an unbelievable headerer of the ball. Its a pleasure to watch him in action.

Not being a United fan I remember when he was at United if he wasn't playing a game for whatever reason I couldn't be bothered watching them play. He has that appeal which very few players possess.
