Taxing Car without NCT?

Car has been off the road for a year. NCT has expired but I start work in 2weeks and need the car. I am the new owner of the car and want to tax and NCT it. NCT wait times are much longer than 2weeks, can I tax it without NCT?

Yup, don't really need an NCT to tax a car.

Yup, just leave the bit on the form blank or do it online.
