Was watching a few clips of Kaz on YT two days ago and in one clip he detailed what he did for a typical bench session back in the 80's:

Bear in mind this session was followed the next day by 5 x 5 x 775 on squat and the next day with 3 x 5 x 805 on deadlift plus 2 x 5 with 830.

    Bench day was like this:

    225lbs x 20
    315lbs x 20
    405lbs x 20
    500lbs x 10
    550lbs x 5 reps x 5 sets
    465lbs x 2 reps x 4 sets which was a drop down set of 2 narrow, 2 wide, 2 high (neck) and 2 low.
430lbs x 25 reps which was his end of workout flush set.

He did around this time 661 in comp for a max when only 5-6 others had done 600 once and he did 600 for five reps and 630 for three reps.

Pretty insane the poundages he reels off.

I always knew this guy was IMO the greatest strength athlete who has ever existed but these chest poundages just solidify it even more.

On muscletalk someone also said he was down as having curled 200kg - had read myself about the 15 x 315 on the arm curls.

    5 x 5 with 550 is insane.

I knew he was super strong but those numbers are way out there.

In case some do not know the name see pic below bearing in mind he was 6ft3 and 330-340lbs:

He won a hat-trick in the early days of the World's Strongest Man competitions, 1980-1982, and came third in 1979 and second in 1988.
This was in the same era as Geoff Capes, Jon Pall Sigmarsson, and Jamie Reeves.

Here's something to get you thinking:

    Bill Kazmaier Vs. Mariusz Pudzianowski

If both were at their best today, and put against each other, who would be the victor?

    No offence here.
    I absolutely despise those questions.
So utterly irrelevant and (regardless of sport) always come down "training/events/times are different".

....and nearly killed OD! The events are very unique. Don't think anyone would do this kind of stuff now. Pole push is in the next? video. My favourite.
