IATI Tax Exams

    Hi all

Anyone got any opinions on the tax exams? IE are they beneficial to have on the CV even if the person does not plan on working in tax?.

Im a qualified ACA who is looking to do some further study, partly for the challenge and for the learning element, and partly to bump up the CV. I currently work as a Fund Accountant

Ideally i would do an MBA but cant afford the 30K right now. I have looked into the Tax Exams and the syllabus and it seems quite interesting. I would also be exempt from level one which just leaves 2 levels to complete

Is there any benefit to knuckling down and completing the tax exams now
and hopefully then doing the MBA in 3-5 years time when I can actually afford to do it?

    Thanks

Like you, I am a qualified ACA and am currently sitting my tax finals. They are very tough (no doubt i failed today!) but i think it is a good course. If you didnt have much interest in going into tax, i don't know how beeneficial it would be to you as the course goes well beyond what you would do for the ACA exams and is tailored towards working in a tax department, especially on international issues which you would not have come across when you did your ACA
