Sram gxp pressfit BB question

Ordered a Sram gxp pressfit BB for my MTB. When it arrived i realised the BB was for a road bike (it was never stipulated on the site which it was for, though I should have checked).

I emailed the supplier and they said 'The BB you ordered can be used on any bike with a GXP BB, you will need to use the spacers - there should be instructions for MTB in the box.' The instructions actually states that 'road BB components are not interchangeable with mtb BB components'

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these kind of bottom brackets, I don't want to have to send it back.

    thanks

I think you just need to use the spacers as advised.

The instructions are a bit confusing.

On my threaded GXP there were spacers required for MTB only. The instructions were a bit confusing. I fitted the spacers to my road bike and had no end of problems until I worked out that I was compressing the cranks onto the bearing.

Do you have the tool to fit them?

Don't have the tool but will be getting OCtuning to remove existing groupset and install the new one. I am sure they will be able to tell me if it's compatible when they see it, I just didn't want to arrive with bike and parts in hand if the BB doesn't fit.

@Lumen, you don't fancy buying an almost new gxp screw in BB with ceramic bearings by any chance?

Only if it was super cheap. I can't be bothered with the extra maintenance!
