Contact Lenses folding back onto finger

First time posted on this forum, I've searched and although there are some general threads on putting contact lenses in, I haven't noticed anything on what I'm experiencing.

I wear glasses when in Ireland, when on holidays I wear lenses a fair bit because of sun glare and the advantage of non-prescription wrap-around glasses.

I've never had any difficutly putting them in or taking them out in the past.
I only use daily disposable, currently using DaySoft this past year or so, used this brand/batch on previous holidays with no issue.

When on hols last month I had a wicked time putting them in, I'd pop them out and have them on my finger tip (concave, so sitting like a bowl on the end of my finger) and with the eye open I'd try and get them on (no blinking issue) but as soon as my finger/lense touched the eye the lenses would reverse back onto my finger tip (like a shower cap on your head).
Very frustrating, I tried having my finger dry/wet with soultion etc etc etc but usually ended up with 10 minutes of hell and going through 5/6 lenses as they either became too dry or dirty and needed to be dumped.

I've never had this issue before, the lenses are within date.

    Any advice.

I myself have been using contacts for years.. i have never come across a dilema like yours esp spending so long doing it and so many contacts used...

On the rare occasion that it does happen to me i just reverse the contact and try it that way.. Surprisingly it works.. When i was getting fitted for my contacts the guy told me that there are different sides to the contacts - ie the right way and wrong way... Even if you do put it in its hurts like hell and take it out, put it in again the other way round and its perfect...

    Hope it helps

they sound inside out, if they just fold back onto your finger use it that way, it's easy to mistake for concave and convex with soft lenses.also when the lenses dry up as you say did you not just put them back in the saline they came in?

I concur with jwabh. There is a good chance they are inside out, it's often hard to tell. Your fingers should be very dry as the lens sticks to the wetter surface.

Sounds to me as if they're inside out. When you take them out of the solution, stand them up on your finger tip first and look closely. If the top is curving outwards slightly then they are inside out.

Alternatively, were you in a warm environment? I find that when the temperature is warm, I have more difficulty putting my contacts in as the excess water doesn't dry as quickly.

    Hope this was helpful!

Could by what the other posters said. Another idea could be to make sure the lens is at the very tip of your finger i.e. as far forward as it can go. The less contact it has with the finger the less likely it will fold back
