Now that we've only one more week left of the season, the majority of clubs no where or whereabouts they're going to finish and can start making plans for next season.

How would you like your side to line-up next season. List your starting 11 and 7 substitutes and any other squad players you'd like involved. Also list how much you think potential replacements would cost and how much you think you'd receive for potential outgoings. You can also post aims for your squad but try to keep it all realistic too please.

It's completely your own opinion, but constructive criticism, ways to improve etc are more than welcome on this thread.

    Sunderland

    Players In:

    Hutton - £5m
    Onouha - £5m
    Al-Muhammadi - £2m (done deal already)
N'Zogbia - £8m-£10m (price depending on Wigan going down/staying up)
Doyle - £7m-£10m (price depending on Wolves going down/staying up)
Welbeck - Another loan if possible, if not someone like Bothyrod on a free or Fuller for a minimum fee

    Players Out:

    Ferdinand - £3m
    Riveros - £1m
    Angeleri - £500,000
    McCartney - £500,000
    Nosworthy - £250,000
    Carson - £100,000
The rest of the players who won't make it at the club - combined £250,000

That would leave me able to build the below squad with only a couple of million spent as we have the Darren Bent money along with the fees we receive for the players going out.
    Gordon

    Hutton Onouha Bramble Richardson

    Cattermole

    Henderson
    N'Zogbia

    Sessegnon

    Gyan Doyle/Welbeck

Subs: Mignolet, Turner, Al-Muhammadi, Meyler, Seb Larsson, Malbranque, Doyle/Welbeck

Squad players involved: Colback, Ryan Noble, Billy Knott, Bardsley, Campbell (when fit again), Blair Adams.

With that squad (and no injury crisis again) I'd hope we'd break into the top 10, have no relegation fears at all for once, and hopefully have a good cup run too.

    Over to you!

Welbeck will be at United next season, imo.

utd will be trying to getting 2-3 players during the summer

    One is a keeper

Too hard to predict who for United. I imagine by 2-3 players Fergie means a keeper and a center midfielder. The third being some youngster for a couple of million.

Kalou out? I'd be of the opinion that he deserves more gametime.

Sneijder recently signed a new deal but said he likes us AFAIK. Sanchez we don't need. We have two of the best wingers in the world here. I doubt we'll go for either tbh.

You forgot to mention Utd. are signing Poulsen from Liverpool for £20 million :pac:

Seriously,David Gill has stated that Utd have a 'keeper lined up and negotiations are going well.On the downside he hinted that Scholes could retire at the end of the season despite being offered a 1 year deal.

For the Toon next season I'd like to see:

New Striker - Doyle or Rodallega or Sturridge.

That would be a start if we could get any of those!

iirc man city were after him in jan i think, or did i imagine that?

either way i think he is a very good player and i think he will end up at a bigger side than sunderland in the summer

Well if I was Kenny I'd sell
Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic, Poulsen, Koncheskey, Soto, Insua N'Gog, Degen and El Zhar.
I'd bring Aquilani back into the team . Buy a good left back, tall centre back, Right winger, two left wingers and shane long.
Ideally, Taiwo, Gary Cahill, Young, Downing and Marveaux

The funny thing is is that you would still probably reduce the wage bill by doing this and the squad would be miles better

If given free reign this would be a dream summer:

    Out: Almunia, Squillaci, Denilson, Bendtner/Chamakh

    Promoted: Bartley, Lansbury.

In: Benzema/Adebayor, Hazard, N'Zogbia, a new CB but no idea who and some sort of competition for Song.

    Woj
    Sagna
    Djourou
    Vermaelen
    Clichy
    Wilshere
    Song
    Hazard
    Fabregas
    Nasri
    RVP

    With a second team of:

    Fabianski
    Eboué
    Koscielny
    ????
    Gibbs
    Lansbury
    ???
    Walcott
    Ramsey
    Arshavin
    Benzema

If Fabregas goes to Barca we could go:

    Woj
    Sagna
    Djourou
    Vermaelen
    Clichy
    Wilshere
    Song
    Hazard
    RVP
    Nasri
    Benzema

Although if he does go I'd much rather see us revert to a 4-4-2 with this kind of line-up:

    Woj
    Sagna
    Djourou
    Vermaelen
    Clichy
    Hazard
    Wilshere
    Ramsey
    Nasri
    RVP
    Benzema

Never ever going to happen and what I can see realistically happening regards players in and out is:

Out: Almunia, Squillaci, Denilson, Bendtner, Vela, Fabregas.

    Promoted: Bartley, Lansbury, Frimpong, JET.

In: Jenkinson, Sakho and possibly a bargain basement competition for Song.

Especially given that Wigan are looking like taking a drop I would love to see Fergie go after James McCarthy.

Now maybe i have my Irish hat on a little too tight but from what I have seen he is a great player for his age, great at holding onto the ball and not giving it away playing possession football, playing those little 1 2s here and there similar to what Scholes does and maybe he has a good eye for the long pass and goals too, just the type of player we could do with looking to the future with the imminent retirement of Scholes and then Giggs.

Sounds biased but it's true - he'd probably only opt for Sunderland for the wages rather than Newcastle.
Anyway, if all depends on if Wolves go down too.

Yeah, I'd like Shane Long but if Reading get up, doubt he'll go anywhere.

Unfortunately you're right IMO. As I said in your thread a few days ago, we'll probably have a lot of similar targets. We'll pay bigger wages but Newcastle holds more prestige with players than Sunderland.

I think we'd be crazy to relegate Meireles to the bench next year. I'm all for rotation but he should be one of the first names on the teamsheet in the majority of our games. A vital player, especially the way Kenny likes to play, pass and move, Meireles is always looking to get on the ball and rarely wastes it.

Gerrard will have to slot in somewhere else imo

A new keeper is needed if Fraser Forster does not return from Newcastle. I would keep him at the right price but wouldn't be too bothered if Westwood came in from Coventry.

A new centre half is required. Rogne, Mulgrew, Loovens and Majstorovic can be prone to mistakes - despite having a good number of clean sheets. Kelvin Wilson is still to be tested.

A new striker is also needed to partner Gary Hooper and give more competition to Stokes and Samaras.

A lot of deadwood needs to be shifted, too many squad players. I would be delighted to get all of the above off the wage bill to bring in a couple of new players.

Damn I really want to do this for Rovers, but I can't do it until I know for certain what league we are in next season.:(

Do the UEFA rules regarding net transfer spend come in next season. If so will they have any implication on these potential signings ?

It'll be interesting to see anyway, I'm sure we'll be both battling it out for Seb Larsson!

Yeah I think so too, I think we might nick that one due to paying a higher wage and Larsson having played under Bruce before.

Another one we'll both be after is Bothroyd on a free. He's due up in Sunderland next week to have a look around the training ground but I've got a feeling he'll end up at Newcastle.

Not a pot to piss in this summer at Goodison. Here's what I'd expect to happen.

Outs - Yakubu, Yobo, Vaughan, Bilyaletdinov
    Ins - Bothroyd

We'll probably be in the hunt for Seb Larsson but there'll be plenty of takers for him. City will come in big for Baines and there'll probably be interest in the likes Jagielka and Rodwell, also possibly Fellaini if he doesn't get his contract sorted out soon.

    I hate the summer.

Yeah that could be a big puller indeed.

Not a big fan of him to be honest, I'd leave him to ye.
In fairness though, Sunderland should be looking at more talented players like trying to bring another Sessegnon, or Gyan. The money is there, and they have some already good players.

I think he's about as good as either of us could get on a free transfer to be honest.

Short has spent decent money over the last few years (I know Bruce has got a lot back too) so he'll be looking for Bruce to spend wisely. We need three strikers and bringing Bothroyd in as one of those on a free would be a good signing IMO. He'd give us another option that we've missed since Jones left and I've heard that West Ham have made an approach for Anton Ferdinand so if he left we might get the opportunity to take Demba Ba. Gyan, Ba, Bothroyd and possibly Welbeck on loan again next season, maybe Sturridge on loan or a different signing altogether would give us four good options up front.

We've got to sign 6 + players in the summer IMO so some of those are inevitable going to be free transfers.

Yeah boothroyd on a free be good signing along with decent striker like Ba as well. Upson in place of ferdinand be decent option along with nzogbia, larson, vaughan, onouha and a decent left full.
