changing surname

    hi all im just looking for a bit of clarification.

    my girlfriend wants to change her surname from "king" her fathers surname to "kirwan" her mothers surname. her mother and father divorced a few years back and she 25 now and wants to change it as she dislikes it.

    she was christened "king" and thats whats on the birthcert.

    what she would like to know is how does she go about changing it to "kirwan"

    birthcert, passport, drivers licence, financial institutions etc.... and also what cost would be involved
