Booking privately with the villa owner seems to be the cheapest options but could easily get scammed this way either I'd say?

I have used www.holiday-rentals.co.uk in the past . Happy with their service and good description and info on the the site .
Another good bet would be a Gumtree search , usually these listing are by the owners and probably cheaper and more flexible regarding booking regulations.
