Has anyone used/specified these products yet? Xtratherm have Cavity therm and Platinum with AeroMark (no association with either)

Would be interested in hearing your opinions on these types of boards, are you better off to maintain a decent cavity?

I have seen these full fill boards in use, there only as good as the fitters if i was full filling a cavity i would reccomend getting bonded bead pumped in rather than having it cut and shut toghter by blocklayers the gaps between sheets are never allowed for in the calc tolerences and i would be fairly confident that if it was full fill pumped in bead would achieve a better u value

sheets will be interlocked and will be managing the build myself. Small extension really so will be easy to keep track of it on my build but was wondering also for future projects.

dont know if i want to chance a blown bead cavity as there is no control over what is filled and whats not, and at least the fullfill boards dont completely bridge the cavity

google the 'denby dale' passive house project in the UK. they used a full fill mineral wool in their 300mm cavity..

given all the talk about moisture in cavtiy - will not the mineral wool get wet and thus pulumit in U-Value

Though a cavity was a cavity - doing this looses that

its not my preferred method, but i guess the guys at Denby had to be confident that there would not be significant moisture build-up

A little misgiving of my own too. I'd opt for bead fill. But the DD guys put their faith in the laminar structure of the batts they selected. Like natural slate , resistant to water penetration across the grain.

I would not rule out the batts but I'd look closely at BBA/IAB certs
