Neil Lennon Appreciation Thread

As everyone knows by now Neil Lennon has been enduring a personal nightmare the past few months with receiving death threats and having to need 24 hour security to protect him and his family.

While I don't expect everyone to like Neil Lennon there is no justification for his life been put in danger because he's a catholic from Northern Ireland that happens to be managing Celtic FC which has close roots to Ireland.

When Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic personally I wasn't over the moon about the appointment. His lack of experience was a major concern and after a terrible season for the club in 09/10 I was worried that the club might not improve.

However Neil Lennon has been a revelation for the club. He has guided the club to 2 Cup finals and are within a point of Rangers going into the last day tomorrow in the league. For a novice in the management game he has made some brilliant signings including Izzaguire,Kayal and Commons IMO.

After the shenanigans of the past few days there seems to be an anti climax feeling coming up to tomorrow. Neil Lennon may be a controversial figure who is outspoken but it's a disgrace that some people think this is justification enough to threaten his life. This man is a football manager, not a leader of some illegal army!

Personally I think Neil Lennon has done wonders for Celtic FC this season and I think he deserves great praise for all his done for the club this season. I hope we can use this thread to show our appreciation for Lennon not to turn it into an off topic debate.

Thanks Neil Lennon for restoring pride and passion back into Celtic and hopefully you'll continue to manage the club for the next few seasons.

He's definitely done well at all Celtic both as a player and a manager, on top of impressing while he was a player at Leicester. He should also be applauded for playing for Northern Ireland, despite the criticism he received. Further, the recent treatment he has received has been a disgrace, completely uncalled for and those responsible should be disgusted in themselves.

That said, I've meet him a few times and found him to be nothing other than a pretentious, stuck up t**t, who's full of himself.

Yes indeed,a disaster thread i reckon.

Lennon in my opinion needs to walk away from Celtic and Scotland as he is putting himself and his family in danger every moment he is up there.
It is wrong that a small minority can do this to a club manger but he must put his family first and leave.
It is hard to have continued sympathy for him the longer he is there plus the more he opens his gob the more trouble he brings his way.
As for his management skills well he has 1 team to beat each year and success in Scotland is no way to judge any manger's abilites.

If Lenny leaves Celtic, then he deserves to have all available titles in the bag. I'm not too optimistic about tomorrow, but still, Lenny deserves something out of that misery.

And those who cause all the trouble should be brought to justice and get what they deserve

Mediocre player and has done nothing in management. I dont think he warrants an appreciation thread.

There are already a number of threads where those positive sentiments are being expressed and can continue to be expressed. There's no need for another one.
