Am I the only one who likes a simple breakfast and eats it a lot more than I should - i.e. beans on toast?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,801 ✭✭✭✭Kojak

What, no jumbo breakfast roll mentioned so far?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,571 ✭✭✭Aoifey!

Get two slices of toast, squash some black and white pudding on it, stick the fried egg on with two slices of smoked bacon, cut a Cumberland sausage in half, place on top and you have the prefect breakfast sambo imo.

Flesh stripped from animals? Any sort of meaty breakfast you have eaten?

I like both but white pudding is nicer. Feel like I'm putting my head above a parapet in saying that.

    black pudding, raw or cooked.

i tried white pudding, wont say i "didnt" like it, but its a completely different taste and texture from black pudding.

as a child i used eat sausages raw, then after watching some film on tv where a guy was training and building himself up, i saw that he took an egg from the fridge and cracked it into a glass and swallowed it back. curiosity got the better of me, it was effing ROTTEN! :o

White in preference to black, both would be a plus. Fcuk I'm starving. Raw pudding though? You'd have to be mental.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,389 ✭✭✭FTGFOP

It's not raw though. It's already been boiled in production.

My sister and I used to eat raw sausages when we were children. Our mother would try to stop us but when she was making a fry we'd grab them out of the packet like magpies and run away.

    Makes my stomach turn now.

White pudding is one of my favourite foods, I dont eat it often tho a very rare time ill treat myself by eating most of a roll between 2 very fresh slices of bread, with maybe some ketchup or brown sauce, it makes a fry, some black is nice, but if Im havin a fry, Ill miss the white, but wudn go lookin for the black

I hate sumtimes wen ur in an eatery (like debenhams or boyers or watever (cant call them restaurants)) and the puddings spicy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,593 ✭✭✭theteal

    Both. I'd prefer white though.

    Just don't forget the beans!

GREY, A butcher in Sallynoggin promised me that if his own white pudding recipe was not as good as the “grey” colour pudding my Ma used to give us years ago, I could have it for free, I had to pay though as it was the best pudding I had in ages, the pre-packaged pudding you see elsewhere is for the bin only.

i do prefer white pudding, but if the black pudding is nice ill chomp that too,
hard to find a real nice one that would make me keep buying it

this needs a poll option imo.

    and beans:)

Yes. It's really nice if you like black or white pudding. Very difficult to get here though :( I stock up when Marks & Spencer sell them around the time of Burns night. It goes wonderfully with potatoes.

    White pudding sandwich.

With proper bread, none of that sliced pan nonsense.

Your obviously not familiar with the inner city delicacy that was "raw" white pudding.

    Boiled pigs blood? No thanks.

Over analyse any food that much and you may never eat again:
    Honey - Bee vomit
Eggs - hens periods / hens aborted unfertilised children
Spuds - grown in cow **** which they absorb
Rhubarb- best grown beside your septic tank. Guess why?
Prawns - Bottom feeding sea slugs

Blood is one of the most perfect and nutritious substances there is.

    Nom :pac:nom :pac:nom :pac:nom:pac::pac::pac::pac:

    Where's the poll OP? DUH!

Black pudding for me, but I love white too - prefer black though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,789 ✭✭✭slavetothegrind

white pudding, but it has to be spreadable and spicey.
not that oat filled rubbish that seems to be everywhere or the well known brand of white rubber in a white sleeve.

it should puff up a bit in the pan and then when you take it out it spreads like pate on your toast as a lovely bed for the well done crispy bacon, dressed of course with a nicely fried just about hard centred egg ( we don't want a yolk explosion!)

if you can get good sausages cook em well and add.

Used to be white over black in my early pudding years. Now it's definatly black over white.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

    Both.

    Can't choose.

Don't make me. I just won't do it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,706 ✭✭✭fonecrusher1

    I like both i suppose.

Is white pudding not basically sausage meat with bread crumbs & oats?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,802 ✭✭✭✭suicide_circus

I think it is best if we don't question what is in black or white pudding.
I love the stuff but i think if I found out the specifics I'd never eat it again.
And I don't want that to happen.

    *hands over ears*

There is a butcher near where I live that makes a black pudding - with a white pudding centre.
And yes, it is pure f**kin glorious.
