Google mapping flights into DUB ?

Does anyone know if there's an aviation version of this utility - http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ ?

This basically provides an overlay of shipping traffic on top of google maps imaging. It's very handy for finding out what's bobbing about when I look out the window onto Dublin Bay. If you zoom in over Dublin (or anywhere) you get to see what's coming and going, based on AIS transponder information taken from the vessels.

I've seen reference in some places to aviation versions, but I can't for the life of me remember where.

    Thanks,

    z

Don't worry, I was just wondering if there was a train one (for Dublin) out of interest. I know that CIE have their 'realtime' (for a given definition of real) thing which tells you the next train into a particular station, but I gather that's based on some sort of fairytale (e.g. when all trains are stopped for an incident it happily shows that they are all still on time) rather than reality.

Looks good, I hadn't heard of that one. The flight numbers are a bit odd looking though .. some planes that appear to be RyanAir flights judging by the pane ID have flight numbers like RYR9YG for example?

They probably are. Ryanair's ICAO code is RYR (FR is the IATA code) as I learnt from here in the Aviation & Aircraft forum.

If it wasn't for the train tracking site request, I reckon this thread would be better off there! :)

For anyone who wants to see where coaches are, Aircoach have a live feature.

    http://aircoach.ie/aircoach.customer.care.php

    orange.arrow.gifGPS SATELLITE TRACKING TECHNOLOGY
Our coaches use state of the art GPS satellite tracking technology provided by WS2. This helps us to monitor our fleet in real-time as well as schedule an efficient service on our routes. Click here to view the live position of our fleet. To help you get to your destination each coach is fitted with a location-based audio visual announcement system that informs you in English when the coach is approaching each stop.

I can't post the direct link as it won't allow me to access the GPS thing as I use Firefox, you need Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher to view.

It turns out that there is a working real time map avaialable on the Irish Rail site - http://www.irishrail.ie/realtime/Default.aspx

Based on the train that just went trundling by outside my window, it actually looks to be operating accurately.
